Our Story
Cignetti Boutique was established in 1962 in the town of Cooma by husband and wife team Renato and Joy Cignetti. Their commencement into fashion began when they could see a need for a European clothing and shoe store to provide for the men working on the Snowy Mountains Scheme.
As the Scheme was ending they had the idea of opening a boutique selling Italian and Spanish women's shoes to a cosmopolitan crowd in Canberra where Europeans settled and diplomats worked. After a few years they decided to open a second store in King Street Sydney where the shop has remained since the 1960s. Their two daughters joined the business and followed their passion for beautiful shoes. They travel to Europe twice a year in order to find the latest European collections, offering choices of leathers, designs and colours for the changing seasons.
Up until this day, the direction the boutique has taken has always been the same. Service is a priority, quality is a must and design is where it begins, whilst also keeping in mind pricing and affordability.
